recommended size power cable

yeh i've read the guide but it doesn't say for what lenght. so here goes... got a 66' pontiac catalina (long *** car), a precision power pcx-2400 amp (around 1700 watts rms) and gonna be pushin 2 re sx 12"s (2000 watts rms).i also have a 1 fared cap. need to know what gauge power and ground to use for about 20ft from battery to amp including fuse and cap. and also if 12 gauge is enough for sub wiring.any suggestions would by appreciated. thx

1700rms id go with 1/0 for power and ground.

Just as a note for the future, no matter what you ask, 1/0 awg will be the recommended power wire gauge for any application you have, when you ask on these boards....

And there's a good reason for it ... its the most universal size and can handle most DD applications. No need to rip up your interior to upgrade because a few months down the road you feel like going bigger.
