Recommend me some turbo cars...

are you going to want to mod it? if the answer is yes, do not get a 300ztt, unless you are good at working on cars and have access to a lift and a lot of tools.

you have to pull hte engine to swap the turbos. i love the car, but they are a ***** to work on, and i work on cars for a living; i even worked at a nissan dealer for a year. injectors go bad pretty often, and guess what? it's a 4.5 hour job to replace one of them if it happens to be one of injectors under the intake plenum that doesn't have an access hole.

get an sti or evo. the sti has been very very reliable and makes good power without a lot of money. it's a little more of a pain in the *** to work on than an evo. i've had my modded wrx for almost 2 years the way it sits now with a big turbo, fmic, fuel system, ecu tuning, and tons of other mods and it has been completely reliabel for 20K miles.

the evo will handle a little better but that's about it. that even depends on who you ask....

srt4, good car. local guy here had the 2nd fastest one in the country for a while, over 500whp on a stock block. make sure you like the torque steer though.

GTI, no thanks. german junk. shit always breaks on those things and they are a ***** to work on compared to japanese cars. i worked on vw/audi for 1.5 years, i would never buy one. you can't even upgrade the turbo to something worth having without buying a new exhaust manifold, the biggest thing that bolt s on is a k04 which is smaller than the stock srt4, evo or sti turbo's. for those cars, there are a multitude of bolt on big turbos good for 500 hp.

I would really suggest looking at a STI, Evo, or be creative and adapt your own turbo to a car of your choice. My buddy did that to his Cavy after putting a lot of work into the motor and it is one of the sickest cars I have ever seen. Its pretty funny to watch him at the tracks when corvettes and 5.0s pull up and laugh at him and then he runs a 10.9. Gotta love the sleepers

300zx turbo is very heavy and very expensive to mod and a pain to work on. The engine bay is very tight. WRX is ok but ***** is flimsy along with some other parts on the car...also just like with the turbo evos..they can be hard to find in good sheap and NOT beat on. Supars still bring a good chunk of coin even though they are several years old.SRT4's are ok but need work in the handling dept and..well typical Chrysler quality. VW's are the same...typical VW quality and parts are expensive. Grand Nationals are good but most you find need a good bit of work and they werent known for cutting corners. The Sy/Ty brothers have a fair share of historical problems as well and can be hard to find in good shape. Honestly if i had the cash and were you i would looks for a 240sx 5spd in good shape and do a turbo kit on it and some handling mods.

srt4 hands down. they're cheap to start with. easy/cheap to mod. and fast as hell. with the right parts you'll have one of the quickest/fastest cars on the road.

what's your buddy have done to his srt4? has he been to the dragstrip?

i might be biased, i have a srt4. if you or your buddy need info on this car let me know. i have one of the quickest/fastest in the country

Srt4's are quick and can be made to be very quick and fast. But its fwd. Limits launching and conering ability. I dont care what anyone says theres a reason the quickest, fastest and best handling cars in world...are rwd.

My views.

Depends on what you want - newer I can help more. Srt's are fun, I ran one in my MazdaSpeed3 and pulled on him, he had intake and a turbo back. 1.8t are big *******, basically, to be quite honest. They just have no pull.

New Cars:

R32

MazdaSpeed3

SRT-4 Neon

SRT-4 Caliber

MazdaSpeed6(awd)

Evo(awd)

Sti(awd)

That's a short list of my favorites

Older:

300ZX

3000GT

Turbo Talon

GNX

Supra

Skyline if you want to, haha

Stealth

Plymouth Laser

And one to consider is a 240sx with a SR20 swap. But that's a whole different ballgame. You can find them around some though.

Small list of options, some have been said some havnt :)

Got ahold of a Speed3 yet?

RX7 twin or single turbo...either way is still super nice.

EVO VII....by far the most superior of any.

Supra...I'd go big single.

300ZX...pain to work on.

3kGTvr4....YUMMY!!! but its a mitsu slug.

Galant VR4.....keep it 100% stock and hang on to it, being they were VERY limited.

Skittle (Neon SRT4)....easy to see 400+ hp...I love those, but you look gay driving them.

Eclipse GST and GSX....GSX is AWD and I loved mine...I'll own another one eventually

Scooby STi......Weeeeee they's quick. Intresting engines as well.

Then the ones Id keep in the garage....to preserve them.

Buick GN/GNX

GMC Syclone

GMC Typhoon
