Ok guys I am going to be putting a system in my new car. The car is a Subaru WRX STi. I have had two systems in the past one was 2 8inch RF p2s with 400 watts to them in a 04 Nissan Frontier and the other was 2 Alpine type R 12's sealed with 800watts to them in a 95 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I listen mostly to rock but I also listen to rap when I feel gangsta. For my new setup I already have a hu which will be a Kenwood Excelon ddx8019 monitor. I want to pick out a sub and amp combo with a box for around $600. I want only one sub to save a little weight and trunk space. I was looking at a JL audio W7 in 10 or 12 inch and a kicker zx1000.1 or zx1500.1 to power it. I have been out of the game for awhile so I don't really know whats good and whats not now. Any help would be great and if you need any more info from me just let me know.

Well I mean around 600 I am flexible but I don't want to go too much over my budget. I guess I really ant to know if there is a sub that is as good or better then a w7 for cheaper or around the same price.

re sx 15?

i dunno but when i had the diamond d312d4s i was pretty happy with them if u can find um, I think now its the d3's or something

These subs are definately worth a look, and Ryan is a great guy to deal with.

I doubt you'll find a better sub for the price.

As for an amp, find something that'll do 1k @ 1ohm or @ 4ohm (those subs are all dual 2ohm) and you'll be set. Memphis/Kicker/Alpine/Sundown and a laundry list of other brands all have amps in your price range that would work.

Good Luck!

hifonics and memphis are good choices for 1 ohm stable amps, as well as many other non mainstream brands people will sure to tell you about

and the w7 is pretty pricey for what it is. If your going to buy a w7, there are much better subs for the same price

I think Im gonna go with the setup daicacharco mentioned. Lookin at the FI website it says that there is a bp power package. It says it increases power handleing. Would this be something I should get or would it be usless at what RMS I would be running it at?
