Reasonable cost for install?

Why not do it your self?

If you dont want to connect anything save them some time by mounting everything you can. run all the wires ect.... and let them do what you cant.

It's too late for that now. At this point, the issue is that they gave me an original estimate of 6 hours labor to do everything and now they're at the end of their 3rd day and they haven't called to tell me it's ready, so I'm guessing they're going to work on it some more tomorrow.

So, when they're done and I'm satisfied with the work, I anticipate a serious discussion to ensue regarding how much time I'm going to pay them for. I want to be reasonable and pay them for the time it should have actually taken. I.e. I don't want to dick them and say "I'm only paying for 6 hours, because that was the estimate you gave me" if the job really was a 10-hour job. But, at the same time, I don't want to pay them for 20 hours if it was only a 10-hour job and they took so long because they didn't know what they were doing or they made mistakes and had to re-do stuff.

LOL. Wow. We installed an amp, ran all the wires, put the sub in hooked it up, installed a deck, and put the fuse in all in like 1.5 hours... This job looks like a 4 hour job max. Depending what vehicle it's for..

I agree. That is alot of money. I just recently had to install my sytem from my eclipse to my elantra. Granted it is alot of work, and we ran into some issues, but it didn't cost me any money. Just time and some aggervatiion. If you are a person who has money just to throw around (LOL), then you can save yourself the hassle of it all. As for me, no way I was going to pay all of that money for someone to install my system.

I have to admit though, at some times I wish that I had paid someone to do my install. I mean drilling a hole big enough for 1/0 to fit through the firewall was a pain in the ***, and the hole didn't even turn out right (but the wire fit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif). Make sure you have the right tools and it will save you tons of time. I probably spent twice as much time as an installer would have putting my stuff in.

Ditto Prochobo! If i had money just to throw away. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Oh btw nice head unit and subs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
