Uhh..
On some cars it is just easier to be able to look at a screen then in the rear view mirror.

when you look in the rear view mirror you have a bunch of stuff that could be blocking your field of view.. people in the back seat, stuff blocking the window, spoiler, very small rear window..

theres tons of reasons why a rear view camera comes in handy...

my gay rerview mirror is tinted, i hate it actually cant see who it is, just lights....
