Rear Speaker Porting?

I have heard that the bass gets through the trunk better if you either remove your rear speakers, pull down your back seat, or drill some holes to allow the bass to come through.

Well I do not want to remove the speakers back there, I kind of use them , and my back seat does not fold down.

I was going to try the hole drilling technique. I was wondering if this is a good idea or not, I would like some input from people that have done it before.

Also, if I do it, I would like some kind of rubber/plastic/metal ring to go inside of the hole (port?), so that it does not look like crap; like I just cut some holes out and left it as is...
