Lol, no problem! Hopefully you had some fun there, I may be going this Sumnmer and cant wait!
Doing the mid range in the kick panels would make doing the door a little easier and it does make sense to have them aiming up. i would probably get a lot more of the sound from them down there then in the door because of the seat or a passenger sitting there. Kick panels seem real easy to do as well so I may try that first. Only thing I was worried about was the airspace in a kick panel enclosure, was not sure if that was really enough room for it to function properly. I knew I couldn't put the mid bass down there, but with the mid range playing a little higher it should be good?
I did upgrade my sub amp and sub as I thought with the amount of wattage I was running up front was going to be way more then my current sub set up. With the 1k watts rms up front, my 12 in a sealed at 2 ohms and roughly 600 watts wont keep up. I have the type R in a sealed box at the moment and the sound loss going from ported to sealed was HUGE. It did sound a lot cleaner and nice crisp tight tones coming from it though which I liked a lot. So I went with a more powerful ten inch that could handle more wattage and upgraded the amp as well. I decided to try the Skar stuff, watched the videos on the dyno for the amp and it did very well. So I went with a 10" EVL10 D2 ( thing weighs like three times what my Type R 12 does lol ) and a Skar RP 2000.1D amp.
From the Crazy Sub thread, just to make it easier lol
For the sub I went down to a 10". I made a test box and put it in different areas of my car to see if it sounded good or not etc. I was going to make a sealed armrest enclosure in the back seat, with the sub firing up and a little to the rear. It sounded good in testing even at full volume, and the nice thing would be that I can actually move it easily to put the back seats down if I need to. What do you think? I have seen a ton of enclosures on instagram etc where people did console boxes or rear seat armrest enclosures ( all sealed I believe ) and thought it would be the way to go for my situation as well. Worst case is I do a fiberglass enclosure in trunk in the side well but then his wheelchair would not fit. Honestly though if I have to have a box back in my trunk I would really want it ported. But in the end, after all my crazy ideas in my head on where to put the sub, the rear seat armrest idea seemed like the best solution and an easy option to build.
It did sound really good though and I left the box in my backseat for a few days listening time. Let me know what you think? Thanks again for your input I appreciate it!
