My system is in my sig. It's rated at 1900RMS. Big three is done in 1/0. I recently resolved my voltage issue by running a dedicated 1/0 ground from the alt to the amps. I apparently had a weak ground through my frame and the current would choak.

Now my voltage stays in the 14s most of the time and sometimes dips to the mid 13s shortly until the regulator kicks out more and I have the rare dip into the 12s (which is random, as in it doesn't always happen on 'this' bass note at 'this' volume or higher, but it's always due to the initial hit of a bass note).

My lights will also dim quite sharply even when my voltage meter is staying at a constant 14.3+. I know this is due to my single HC1400 up front not being large enough to handle the current draw from the amps until the regulator can supply the demand.

The question is:

Do you think a single Batcap 800 could handle the current draw before the reg kicks in and help stabilize my voltage and prevent dimming or do I need at least something the size of Batcap 2000 or Powermaster D3400?

I ask because I could fit a batcap 800 hidden in my trunk behind the carpet wall. It could fit between the inner frame support wall and the outer body (it could fit about 4.5" W x 14 L x 10 H. If I go with something larger I'll have to mount it visibly.
