when i just get the voltage of the front battery, it reads fine (12.5ish volts). The back battery lasts about 5 days of daily driving then goes dead. When I measure the back battery WHILE STILL CONNECTED TO THE FRONT, it readsi'm officially lost in teh sauce...

where is loop? i know he can untangle this mess!! lawlz
I was going to say a lot of bad battery installs are from a bad ground. If its a unibody car that "sub frame" might not be what its all cracked up to be.Front batt is always gonna read 12v+ or should. Turn the car over and check voltage. Front and back. Is voltage reaching the back? Is back batt connected to front batt? Is it grounded well?
It is the fuse or a bad connection. If you have checked both of those out completely, the battery is dead and needs replaced.
