Fuses..

The fact that you have a HO alt is irrelevant to the amount of current that will pass through a fuse....

(that is all voltages being the same)

Although your question probably is if I install a inline fuse will it make my investment in my HO alt worthless, which it will cause some voltage drop, but not much

If you have a ho alt., does a inline fuse restrict current flow?
First off, anything and everything, including wire as big as your head, to some extent does add resistance. That said, a good ANL fuse will add an immeasurable amount of resistance to that connection.

what size would that be?? pic?

It will but as loopkiller said it will be almost unmeasurable. I always say fuse an alt b/c if the voltage regulator does fry it can screw every thing electrical in your car.
but a fuse doesnt blow with high voltage. it blows on amperage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

edit: gotcha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

WRONG!

Fuses are rated at a certain voltage for a certain amperage.

They basically blow at a wattage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif, but in all reality they blow at a certain temperature that is reached from a certain amount of power passing through it, which is as we all know a function of both current and voltage

what if it's high voltage, low amperage though?

anyway i was just fckin w/ dude //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

It blows at temp, caused by power, so if you have a voltage spike with a amperage valley then it wont blow, but........ that is soemthing that would very rarely happen
