Really Need Your Help Guys! - Sub Recommendations.

Im brand new here and from searching and reading the forums, you guys seem like you know your sh!t.

I picked up a new 2008 Scion XB yesterday and I pulled my subs and amp out of my 1964 Impala. I was convinced by a friend of mine that Volfenhags were the way to go and after doing some research hereon the forums it looks like I wasted my money.

They dont sound bad but they do not have that bone rattling bass when you are out side of the XB.

What I am looking for is the deep low boom. I also want it to be ridiculous from outside of the vehicle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

As you know, the Volfenhags aren't cutting it so I need help finding the right sub(s) and enclosure.

I have the 1600w Volfenhag amp. I am hoping this will push what ever sub you guys recommend.

I really want to spend as little as possible so hopefully someting under $300 total.

Please let me know what you guys think because I am really excited about my new car.

Thanks

thanks man..i hope to learn a lot from the forum

i will look into those. will i need 2? and will it provide that head turning "holy shit" response im hoping to get? and will my amp be sufficient? and thanks for the quick reply too

id agree with a 15" l7 ported right will make boom boom outside the car. a budget would help, how about a si mag or a hd3.

15" hd3 ported would definitely make boom boom.

so you guys think a single L7 would do the trick with my 1600w Volfenhag amp?

when you say "ported right" does that mean I need a special box and not one from ebay or would an ebay enclosure be enough?

my budget is under $300

i have this amp - the bottom one

http://www.volfenhagaudio.com/amplifier3.html

here are some specs I pulled from another site...im pretty new to this so you should be able to make this out better than me.

HIGH POWER 1600 WATTS MAX

2 X 350 W @ 2 OHM

2 OHM STABLE

BRIDGES TO 4 OHM STABLE

TRI MODE CAPABLE 1 OR 2 CHANNEL

FAN COOLING SYSTEM

VARIABLE BASS BOOST 0 TO 18DB

VARIABLE BASS FREQUENCY 30 TO 100 HTZ

CHANNEL SEPARATION >60DB

SIGNAL TO NOISE RATIO >97DB

THD 0.03

FREQUENCY RESPONSE 20HZ TO 200KHZ

HIGH AND LOW LEVEL INPUTS

282MM X 59MM X 281 MM

you could get a pair of Kicker 15" CVR's Dual with 4 ohm voice coils. they would prolly be about the same if not louder than a L7 and a little cheaper. i am assuming you have a decent amount of room to work with, approx 7 cu ft should be enough. are you good at wood working? you are going to need a custom ported box, it doesnt sound like you are too worried about SQ so id go a lot of port area for extra loudness. my friend has 2 12" CVR's in a S10 blazer and you can hear him coming 1/4 mile away.
