RE XXX 15" subs...ANY GOOD????

There are so many options out there as far as subwoofers go...I have given up on Orion HCCA subs because of all the people that said how crappy they are. My newest interest is (2) RE Audio's XXX 15" woofer. I found some dual 2 ohm subs on eBay for around $635 (each) shipped. I figured I could run these on a couple of cranked up Rockford Fosgate T10001BD at 1 ohm. I would like any honest opinions on these subs. They will be going into my '62 Coupe DeVille. Ohhhh also what would you suggest as far as a box goes (sealed, slotted, ported, blow-thru back seat...). I want quality as well as loud here.

yep great subs. nothing to it, but i wouldnt pay top dollar for em. I guess it depends what price ur getting them for. But to keep it simple Sick subs

Very nice speakers. I would try the classifieds here, you might find something along those lines for a bit cheaper. Cool ride

check in the classifieds for a much cheaper price for good used ones. but there is nothing wrong with buying new either if you have the dough.

And btw they would def want alot more than a 1000d each. Look to put 2000-2500 on each one to really get em moving.

That means plan for electrical uppgrades. Big systems are more than massive subs. Also plan ur mids accordingly. Basically search and read...alot.

Ohhh yes, I have a very good machinist buddy who I'm gonna have help me build a dual or triple alternator bracket. I have a ton of room under the hood of the Caddy, and am gonna need a lot of power. Also because of the air ride's dual compressors...Lots of 0 gauge in my future. lol. Also, if the T10001BD amps weren't gonna cut it, then two T20001BD would.

Great subs for output and sound quality, for that price I recommend the hertz mille ml3800 15" as well for sq. And if your running the reXXX 15's u might consider a bigger amp, however the t10001bd should be fine cause it's a very underrated amplifier.

i got mine for 460 shipped on ebay Brand New. Id wait for some autions to come up that start at a low price. last month one of them went for $360 on ebay brand new.

You better make sure you've got enough room for the box.. those things want lots of space.. (ie. a whole trunk for one sub)

XXX's are garbage dude...I'd recommend either sony or pyle, with a boss amp (and keep your gains low or you'll be replacing your windshield)

The way I'm doin it is I'm buying something else every 2 weeks when I get paid, and I won't have $14xx.00 at one time to spend on a BD4000, when I split it into two amps at $750 or so each it's a lot more affordable for me. The 4000 was my original plan til I saw the price tag.

PLUS, with the only XXXs I can find being dual 2 ohm, I need 2 amps to run 1 ohm and get max power.

RE XXX was voted as the best sub in '07 by some magazine...Seemed pretty unbiased, also

Man, I am hooked...these are winners. I am gonna go with the RE XXX 15s.
