well i just sold my mtx 9500 12 and im looking for a new driver //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif i want something that gets as loud as the 9500 but sounds as good or better than the 9500. im trying to go away from kicker, mtx or jl. ive narrowed it down to these two subwoofers but i cant decide. off ebay the diamond is $240.00 and the audioque is 229.00 so if you know somethin g in that price range let me know im open to all help. also i will be using the eD nin.1 at 1ohms to power my subwoofer and i also drive a 2002 honda accord ex. i appreciate you guys helping me out here! thanks a ton

both of these drivers have a rms rating of 1000-1200 watts so i figured it would sound just fine? are the audioques power hungry or something?

those are 2 totally different drivers. you need more power to run an hdc3 and it wont sound nearly as good as the d9 so out of those 2 and from what you want id say go with the diamond.

I havent heard alot of different subs but I have heard a DA 12D9 HEX off a D6 1500rms power amp in a hatch back and it was incredibly loud and clean. Its more SQL then SPL but it was plenty loud for a dialy driver.

Everyone who has heard my old silver cone d9 15 has been impressed so far. Both by sq and loud. It is on a concept 2400a amp. If the box wasn't a tad large it would take all that amp has it feels like. It says 1500 rms 2400 peak on the motor though. The new ones are 1k rms Like you said.

I havent heard a 9500 but you must have sold it for a reason. I would say the D9 would be a big upgrade in SQ and only a small down grade if at all in SPL. I doubt if anyone here has heard both in the same car but maybe others will chime in.

The D9 is bad azz tho. Good impact too.

You don't have enough power to take the AQ to its full potential, but if you plan on getting a bigger amp then thats a great sub. The Diamond will sound better than the MTX, but won't be as loud. You have more options if you buy used subs rather than being stuck on new ones. For your price range there are a lot of solid drivers out there in the classifieds.
