RE SX 18 *pics*

they are shipped in the cardboard box with 4 styrofoam peices and a peice of wood at the bottom of the box for extra support. believe it or not when finished and packaged properly the sub doesnt shift at all...if your box looked like that its the company that shipped it, RE doesnt ship their shit like that, and thats coming from having about 4 woofers from them

What im looking it shows that they attempted to do that. . . There is a thick peice of cardboard on the bottom of the box, however I guess the regular peices of cardboard that are supposed to be glued to it is all ripped off, the stryrofoam peices where laying either around the sub or on top of the sub, so there was no support from that as well. . . I mean, i have no doubt that it probably got handly rough in fed-ex, but you would think they would at least line the box in bubble wrap or packing peanuts or something. . .

Im just thankful that nothing on the sub appears to be ruined, it took me 13 days to get this thing.

The XXX's and MT's come in wood crates, everything else comes packaged like your SX.

My SE, seXXX, and SX came all packaged the same way as yours. All of them were a little roughed up, but never to the point where they were unusable. At most, it was cosmetic damage.

IMO RE should 'crate' up all their subs like the MT and XXX, except maybe the relatively small RE's. As others said above, my xxx's came in wooden crates, basically 4 short 2x4's screwed to a piece of particle board top and bottom. Looked to have taken all of 5mins to make per speaker, and a few bucks worth of material. An 18" SX definitely deserves such attention.

The new baskets look very similar to the old ones imo. I like the old ones better, but I wouldn't call the new ones fugly.

the sx and the se have the same size motor etc...if the sx needs it, the se needs it too. think about it though, more materials, more time/labor, and a more expensive shipping charge because of the added weight..idk anything about the inside view, but it would seem the return rate might not justify the added cost.

I said they should crate everything but the RE series imo, so I dont know why you are mentioning the SE... I agree. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

As for added cost, yes of course it will add some. I addressed that in my initial post. IMO a company who bases the majority of its business on remote sales and shipping the product across the country should address the issue of their customer's receiving the product without scratches and possibly worse. But... meh.

First off, i have to say that im very happy about finally getting the sub, but the packaging was rediculous. . . .
This is how i received the box. . .

Granted, it looks like it was roughed up a little in delivery, there is still nothing inside the box to keep the sub from shifting around. Just a box and 4 peices of stryophome. Horrible packaging. . .
Exactly how i got my 15" SX
