INverting 12w6v2- how to properly seal

The only good way to invert that style of JL is to mount the driver on the baffle first, then screw in the baffle...PITA.
Not what I wanted to hear, but thanks! I am dealing with box size issues and am trying to get every bit of space possible. I would just go buy a new box, but this one is fiberglassed in the wheel well, false floor, amp racks, the whole 9. I might have to end up taking it to a shop and let them figure out how to make the box bigger.

I am going to go get packing peanuts to measure the volume, then try polly fill as well. Does you guys know how much room 16oz of polyfill adds? I know you can add 18oz per cubic foot, but how much space would that add.....and yes, I know, it really wouldn't add space, I'm sure you understand what I mean:)

is it true when inverting the sub to fire into the box,the box should be half the size as normal?
No.

What you are thinking of is an isobaric enclosure. Two subs in one box mounted so that they are facing each other, cone to cone. In those types of isobaric enclosures yes, you reduce the box size by half.

However, simply inverting a single sub is totally different than an isobaric enclosure.
