RE SE12 questions / advice

I finally got my new RE SE12 sub installed. It is in a 1.138cu ft enclosure, no filling. Minus displacement, that gives it 1.0 cu which RE says is perfect for an SE.

It is running in 2ohm, powered by a DLS A7. The original sub was a TC+2 10" running in 2ohm as well.

The RE SE12 is hands down a badazz sub. It sounds like I have 4 10"s in there, but I am concerned on the boominess of it. The TC+2 was very clean and detailed. This RE is just balls to the wall. I would like to to be 90% SQ, 10% SPL. It just doesn't seem to be as tight/quick as the TC+2 -

Is this normal for the RE SE sub or should I just look at a different sub? If so, what do you recommend?

Thanks!!!

X-over is set around 60 and no clipping. Just lot a sorta on the boomy side for my test. this is my first RE sub and the only other sub I am really familar with was the TC+2 10 - a lot of difference in those 2. I do not mind playing around with the box etc just don't want to waste time on something that may be naturally boomy.
