re se 10" enclosure suggestions

the xtra 2 inch to 42 only nets you an extra .10 cf... the extra from 13x13 to 14x14 gets you an xtra .50cf

Platteville is 20 miles south of Greeley on HWY 85 and Route 66..

roughly 25 miles due east of Longmont..

Ahh, Well I guess I could even do 42 x 14 x 14. Will this big of a box still sound good with rock and other types of music or just rap and heavy bass. I listen to everything so i still want some punch for rock.

in my limited experience with them they just need more air than optimal spec calls for.

in a spec box I found them too flat sounding and they have a muted presence. but if ya let em breathe they come to life fairly well. the biggest issue I have with them is they don't do as well when tuned higher ( like you want for rock country jazz ect... ) and they top out at around 35Hz tuning... higher starts to make em muddy sounding..

my personal taste for all around on any music is 36-38Hz..

When I called re and spoke to greg about my truck and the space and everything else this is what he emailed me. Sure does look on the small side to me. It's smaller than re spec

I really like Greg and have spoken to him about box designs on several occasions...

with that said I have never liked his thoughts on it nor have I liked the muted sound either

just my opinion but I have had several customers that have brought me RE subs and Gregs designs that have fallen flat on their face and had to be redone every time...

the customers hated it in every instance.. so we redid the boxes and added 10 to as much as 50% more airspace above optimal specs and or Gregs designs and tuned at 31-35hz with great results...

iirc 1 of the customers was via emails and forum posts on carstereo.com and went by the name hispl??

sounds like a good plan //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
let us know how it turns out too
Will do. I won't start building till next week. Been raining all day here in sunny Florida

2.25-2.5ft^3 at 32-33hz should work well for the pair...that's probably close to as big of a box as you can get, maybe a little larger...don't think you'll need it though.
