RE Recones: hybrid options?

I have an RE HC i wouldn't mind reconing to a hybrid. I can never get through on the phone. Does anyone know what sort of options I have available.

Just like my HC motor / basket with XXX parts or are there other options available?

Which HC is it? The newer one or the older **** 1? I loved my **** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif. You have to keep calling them so you can know all your options. I'm pretty sure that you could get it to a Sx because those 2 woofers are very similar.

i know my friend just got his HC 18 reconed, they used 1 soft spider and a 3" copper VC.

They can pretty much put what ever u want on it, when time comes to recone my IA DP it will be gettin a 3" Alluminum coil with 2 still spiders.

I really don't know the technical stuff so I don't know how I would want it reconed for a SQL setup.

a 3" voice coil would be fine . It's the newer style. I wouldn't mind an XXX dustcap or just a blank one though.

basically, you can only have a 3" voice coil, pretty much any coil config from quad .7ohm to single 4ohm.

spiders are for the application, the softer the more efficient and less power, harder is more geared toward SPL. the SE has dual soft spiders i believe, and the MT has quad stiff (you can get them made to spec, but thats a common config)

at least thats my understanding.

so yes, re can recone it. and many other places who use 3inch coils could too. think digital designs, incriminator, ect. i think soundsplinter only uses 2.5's.

To the best of my understanding, DD won't touch another company's sub. I looked into it a while back.

not a whole lot, SX was built for strong street bass. I think it has a dual still spider so add one or two more. Basicaly turn it into a MT with the SX motor

Ok because im debating on sending mines back to be turned in to dual 4's so i can run them at 1 ohm on my amp or just sell them and get like a single MT or 2 XXX's

Not sure if you're talking about the old or new XXX's, but the SX's are louder than the old XXX's.
