L7's do sound like balls....I'm no SQ freak, but I have 2 8L7's and they just sound gay....the whole sqaure sub thing, yeah, technically they have more cone area...but they can lose a lot of ground quickly there with excursion and efficiency.

Honesly, the SX's sound good for you. They get piss loud, sound decent(hell of a lot better then L7's) and in your budget.

SSD's most likely won't get as loud as L7s, Q's probably could much closer though. L7's are loud as subs, it just depends if you like the sound of them or not.

so what exactly is your setup in your sig it doesnt say u have 2 8's what do you have

also i wish there was a way to hear l7's compared to re's but i dont kno many places in my area that carry re's

also being that the re's can run at 1000rms each would the kicker 1500 power those fine or would i need the 2500 kicker amp

also will i need to have a alternator upgrade

also i want something thats loud as possible for the money but not sound like total s**tt so how do l7's sound when the bass hits can u hear the plastic annyoing sound

they dont sound half as bad as ppl are making it seem. i mean its definitely not any sq sub...but i love mine...and i had cvxs....but i got the L7s for competions.

i dont think its a huge difference to the ear...so if you want more quality go with the cvx if your not competing..but i got one of my cvx's still...but its a 12 im trying to sell it...i burnt the other one up.
