just put it in at least 2 cf ported and you'll be happy, and you need a more power 2 it, i have 1200 watts on my mx 15 and it gets it up and going and loud but now where close to full potential

Yeah it will thump pretty good at that wattage, i got a 3000.05 MMats pro audio amplifier on my RE MX 12, my spl hovers at 170 at 36 hz, I have it in a prefab super bass pro box that is vented and has 2 cu. ft. of air space and 324cu. in. port. i tell you what the sq is awesome and this mf exceeds the jl w7.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

What?

Okey Dokey Dudehttp://www.reaudio.com , and engineer a box that is appropriate to your woofer. They have an awesome box calculator there that will take the guesswork out of it. I recently double laminated MDF plys, and built a box to EXACT factory ported enclosure specs, and my customer's REMX12d2 dyno'd out at 141.39dB on 1200WattsRMS (well below spec ...recomended 1500wRMS) in a new-ish Nissan Altima. So point blank... do it right, and it will sound good(and loud). It really is worth the time and expense. JL makes an excelent woofer. REAudio makees a boutique quality woofer for cheaper. And boutique quality hardware requires buotique quality instalation, and ATTENTION TO DETAIL. I have installed PALTRY woofers in the CORRECT enclosure and they are big, bold, and loud. Ie. Kicker Comps in mondo sized 2.25cf sealed boxes and they sound awesome. Feed your mondo sized woofer correctly, and it will treat you right. Don't skimp on the small things, and the big things will behave properly.

So good luck and good sounds,

EZ Win

You are just a nigga with a keyboard who does not know how to type.

ummmm u have 500w on a 1500wrms sub??? Sealed or not...what did u expect...rms rated output with 500w or sumthing?
RMS has nothing to do with output.
Im surprised to see so many people recommend 60 inches of port area for a 12 playing music. Way way way too much port area.

Oh, and with a Qts of .434, its well within the range of working fine in sealed enclosures. Some really awful advice in this thread.

i concur

ditto

i personally would not have bought the mx12 if i only have 500 watts to play with...the re se is more up ur ally if u want to put a sub in a small sealed box and its more efficient than the re mx by far (it dont have as much moving mass weight as the re mx)
