I just put in a RE mx 12 and i have it on a jl 500/1 v2

in a sealed box the box is like .75 cubes after woofer displacement and recomended is 1

also i cant invert it cuz the sub sounds like *** inverted ,,,

Is it the way it is made? when inverted on low notes u just hear the air moving past the basket and sounding like a leaky box its gayyyy!

i think i need more power and a bigger sealed box,

also i think i should switch to ported

help me out

it is a dual 2 and inverted i had it series one wire going from the neg of one vc to the positive of othe vc then the reaming pos and neg went to the amp,

so i had it at 4 ohms on a jl 500/1

the sq is good but no output? im only hitn 130 at the loudest

i guess i need more power or larger ported box i know this box is small but it was a perfab

u only wire a inverted subwoofer opposite polarity when there is another sub with normal polarity hooked up that is not inverted, so that they move the same way..

in this case i only have one so it dont matter

listen guy. you are putting a large ported box speaker in a small sealed box. and you should have like 1kw on tap at least aside from that. re's speakers are so inefficient its rediclious.

sorry to burst your bubble. id say at least 2 cubes ported to like 30hz with like 60^2in of port area and 1kw. and thats a starting point. i would say call RE up... but we all know how far downhill their customer service went at the end of their popularity.

just my 2 cents.

just put it in at least 2 cf ported and you'll be happy, and you need a more power 2 it, i have 1200 watts on my mx 15 and it gets it up and going and loud but now where close to full potential

so u have a 1/4 of the power it can handle, in a box half its sealed size, duh theres your porblems right there. the MX are very nice drivers. given 1.8-2.5 cu ft tuned into the low 30s with 1.5-2.2Kw on them, they will please you. there a very smooth and even musical driver for such a highly power sub. but given the power it begs for, hold on to your ears, casue they get LOUD. my sugestion, up the power and the box size and aligment and then repost your opinion
