Rate My Set-up Please...

A specification is an explicit set of requirements to be satisfied by a material, product, or service. Should a material, product or service fail to meet one or more of the applicable specifications, it may be referred to as being out of specification; the abbreviation OOS may also be used. The goal is effectively and efficiently operate equipment within the specified requirements
So by your own definition a sub that could not HANDLE its rated continuous power specification would be out of specification and I would agree with that. What you and so many other fail to grasp is that subwoofer power ratings specify the maximum power that the sub can handle. It in no way defines or outlines what is REQUIRED for the sub to perform either efficiently or optimally. By your assessment running an amp capable of anything less than rated subwoofer maximum power would cause the sub to perform inefficiently which simply isn't the case. In fact in most cases, the closer you get to rated power delivered to a sub the LESS efficient its performance becomes. Ever heard of power compression?

The reality is that the specification that you reference is called "power handling" not "power requirement" or "power recommendation." The sub satisfies that specification by heat dissipation. It describes a physical property of the sub.

If you look close at some manufacture amps sheets they might have somthing that reads wattage measured at 14.4V. Try adding a 2farad capacitor.
Now we have more newbs jumping in a ****** everything up. OP was finaly starting to listen to us then you have to say something stupid like that

You didn't really just tell him to get a crap...errr...I meant a cap did you? Please STFU with that bull$h^#. If you want to buy a cap, I also have two penny's that are glued together, you can put them on top of your amp and it makes it play louder, I sell them for $29.95 plus shipping.
