A lot. Been there and done that. I pitched all through College and my arm and shoulder still hurt. I threw 152 pitches in a State Championship game when I was 12, arm was pretty much wasted after that. Still got a full ride to Tennessee, but my arm was never the same. Glory Days, haha!View attachment 28157
Looks like you were a pretty good ball player. That’s pretty cool. I grew up playing baseball every weekend and by the time I graduated high school my body was done. 4 surgeries later the doctors told me I would have arthritis at a very early age. I decided to give it up so I could be able to play with my kids someday. I sometimes regret turning down the scholarships but I also don’t think I made the wrong decision. I see you were drafted out of high school it seems. Was it your dream or just something you were good at (if that makes sense)?

I thought that I was going to go pro, but I played in the steroid era and refused to take them to get bigger. I was one of the few guys who played every game and was also a starting pitcher. I did about every thing that I could do as an amateur and won a shitt load of awards in Nevada and nationally. I'm left handed and was considered too small for first base (6' 185 lbs.) and didn't throw hard enough (90 m.p.h.). This is one of the awards that I really like winning. Voted best JUCO hitter in the nation by Rawlings. I was getting full page articles written about me since the age of 12. Glory Days, lol!

I saw that you were also the Nevada High School Player of the Year too right?

Yep! Last high school at bat was a three run walk-off homerun to win state. Last college at bat was a grand slam to beat UCLA. Won four different state championships growing up. Pitched in front of 12,000 people when I was 12. Done all kinds of weird shit on the baseball field. Hit two HR's in one inning in college. Stole home with the pitcher in the wind up in Tennessee. Hit for the cycle with an extra HR and double (6 for 6 w/ 11 r.b.i.'s) in a state playoff game. Good memories, but just glory days at this point. What State did you play in?

I had a free ride to Laurier University playing soccer
I'm sure you guys have not heard of it but it's one of the better Canadian schools
I played a season in the "academy" league with them which is close to the farm league.
Youngest guy on the team and I scored 18 goals in 25 games.
Some guy slide into me with his legs up and put one cleat into my shin/calf and the other into my thigh
I wasn't the biggest guy so I talked a lot of shit to get in their heads but I must have pissed him off
Snapped my leg like a toothpick and did it on purpose, the ball was like 3 feet in front of me so he was not going for that.
I was 17, I didn't step out onto the pitch again until I was 30 when I started to play again to stay in shape.
I still play, keeps my *** from getting fat
I didn't end up going to university but I did Ok, I now own a few fast food restaurants so I can't complain.

I played soccer through High School. I was a center fullback. It kept me in shape for baseball. I made all-conference here in Vegas. Soccer was rough back then. I suffered a severe concussion my Junior year during a game, amnesia and all. Played the whole second half of a game and didn't remember it. I ended up in the hospital that night. Which Fast food places do you own? That's cool that you do.

I used to play striker when I was younger but switched to center back/sweeper when I started playing again.
Its still rough. I've had a few concussions and broke fingers, toes and a couple seasons ago my collar bone.

I own 5 Tim Horton's
They are coffee donut and breakfast restaurants
Up here we are back and forth with McDonalds for top fast food
There are actually over 8000 stores
75% being in Canada

I played in a couple of baseball tournaments in Lethbridge, Alberta my Jr. and Sr. years in high school. Beautiful country up there and the girls loved American boys. That's when I learned the Canadians said Zed28, IROC Zed. I've heard of Tim Hortons, that's pretty cool that you own some of them. I played some adult baseball and indoor soccer over the years, but my body is beat, especially, my back and left arm/shoulder. My back kills me after a day of driving my 62' Bug.
