Random Picture Thread

Awhile back I posted pics of this house when it was for sale. Looks like someone bought it but did a real shitty resto job on it. Basically looks like all they did was slap some new paint on everything. Standing back it looks great but up close, not so much.

Tiny little random cemetery on the side of the road. This little stretch of road, about a mile, had more road kill on it than I'd ever seen, three deer, an owl, a big *** hawk, a fuck ton of army dillers, and a frog.

For real. Like bro I know I convinced you to climb to the top of that tree and jump out of it. Yeah, yeah , I know your legs not supposed to look like that. Rub some dirt on that shit. If you don't stop crying mom's gonna beat my ***. True story.

They're coming.

Mysterious radio signals from space have been known to repeat, but for the first time, researchers have noticed a pattern in a series of bursts coming from a single source half a billion light-years from Earth. Repeating fast radio bursts — millisecond-long bursts of radio waves in space — are usually sporadic or in a cluster, according to previous observations. Now, the evidence of a pattern in the signal adds to the question of what could cause these bursts to emit the way that they do. In a paper, the researchers who detected the signal consider the possible causes, like the orbital motion of a star or an object that acts as a companion in the outskirts of the galaxy.

JEFF BEZOS, AMAZON chief executive and world’s richest man, will donate US$10 billion (AU$15 billion) to global warming solutions through a new initiative - the Bezos Earth Fund.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
ā€œClimate change is the biggest threat to our planet,ā€ @jeffbezos announced in an Instagram post on Monday. ā€œI want to work alongside others both to amplify known ways and to explore new ways of fighting the devastating impact of climate change on this planet we all share.ā€
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The money will be donated via grants to scientists, activists, non-government organisations or ā€œany effort that offers a real possibility to help preserve and protect that natural world,ā€ he wrote.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Amazon has long been pressured from environmental groups and its own employees to address its huge carbon footprint, which totalled a mega 44.4 million metric tonnes of CO2 in 2018.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That puts Amazon ā€œin the top 150 or 200 emitters in the world,ā€ says Bruno Sarda, president of CDP North America, an organisation that encourages carbon disclosures, reports The New York Times.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In September, Bezos announced @Amazon’s Climate Pledge - the goal of carbon neutrality by 2040 - however the company’s employees have agitated for further meaningful action, such as blocking cloud computing services for the oil and gas industry.

One this day, in 1963, Deloris Peoples Jordan gave birth to what would become the greatest basketball player the world has ever seen. Happy 57th birthday to my favorite athlete of all time.
