racism will never dissappear, ever. its always been around, and always will be.

i think different ethinicities should be, for lack of a better word, embraced. not ignored, that is not equality, if anything, it is oppression.

hell, even with food, I'd be sick of eating burgers after a while. lol

I currently go to school in northern Idaho, and at my school, there is hardly any diversity. The thing that bothers me a lot is that it seems like the the Black people almost never hang out with other races, and the Asians hang out with only Asians, and so on and so on. It is kind of sad to see that minorities seem affraid to venture out of their racial groups. But then again, if you are black at my school it is assumed that you play a sport for the university. If you are any other race, it is assumed that you don't speak english. There is also plenty of anti-black sentiment lingering around the area as well. It is tough to meet so many cool people otherwise that still have something against black people, when most of them haven't even met a black person.

ive had family murdered by turks in greece....this was in the 1920s....the turkish gov. has committed genocide in countries like greece and armenia....400 years being ruled under those f*cks and they still dont leave us alone....they used to be ruthless....but the relationship between greece and turkey is slowly improving....the discrimination i think will remain, however....ive dated a turkish girl before and our families did not like that at all...it inevitably lead to our break-up.

There probably WILL be discrimination forever though. If its not race, it will be something else.

You know how it is. I think the one major difference between this and what an African American or Jew goes through is that Turkey has still not officially admitted responsibility for what happened...it would be laughable if it weren't true - a bit like Germany denying WWII ever took place and expecting the world to believe it.

this reverse racism is going crazy though...but why is it only blacks and whites??

the age ol adage:

"if a white lady saw 2 big black men going towards her in a dark alley, and the lady turns around and walks the other way, she would be considered racist"

i think the lady would turn around and go the other way if two big men of ANY color were walkin towards her.

i think that blacks are as/more racist then white these days. "ima **** that white boy up" is all i hear, never do i here "ima **** that nigg** up!" with the exception of very minimal amounts. but i think all black people say "white boy". yes....that IS what they are but thats like sayin cracker in my book. we had a big deal in my automotive class and the teacher was sayin u cant say the "n word" or cracker or the "s word" (spic) and all this. and it got me thinkin, he edits those words cuz its a common disrespect to his nature and possibly his whole surrounding. but why is it that he edits out his discretion and not mine? so i told him "if i cant say "the n word" then i dont wanna here the "c word" come out of your mouth or anyone elses for that matter". i dont get why its case by case on this whole racial profiling, and its profiling to say this guy did this and hes a _______, just like the rest of em. i really hate how im treated at school by others that are NOT white, but i show the upmost respect trying to earn theres. white people ARE the minority in florida. but...............it is the C WORD! not cracker......that is unless i can say ***** edit: er not a

man i sat here and read every post because i'm into the whole race thing i've taken quite a few black history courses. i feel sorry for those that have skewed beliefs of another's race based on small events. i'm african american and i've had a lot done towards me by whites(been called a n!**er at a JV football game back at home in cleveland we beat the sh!t outta them but it was still wrong). it's all in the principle the word is said, i know some white guys that i wouldn't care if they said the n-word because i know its not in a hateful way. it's all in the content of what you're sayin. we say it to each other as a way to talk to one another like no else can. similar to women friend who can call each other b!*ches and stuff and don't get mad. it's cause u know it's not in a hateful way. but don't listen to these old fogie blacks that act like the n-word is just our generation that stuff started with our parents. i know plenty of older blacks that say it. and it's all in the older black movies from the 60's and 70's.

but to cover a couple things i saw. first we prefer african american because that's our heritage just as some one would want to you to know they are irish-american. difference is that we don't know the countries of our ancestors because of the lack of records. so all we have to claim africa (the whole continent).

and on the slave thing, we complain because sure in africa blacks kept blacks as slaves but not in the same sense that it was when we were brought here. slaves in africa wasn't to beat, ****, or demean anyone. it was apart of the culture their you weren't treated any different like they weren't human, or not allowed to learn. but when it came here it got all f**ked up.

and you better believe there is a double standard today BUT. before we could have our own movies there were stereotypical sh!t that happened years ago (or does no one remember sambo and black face white actors). or even the f**kin little rascals and the black kid is named buckwheat because of his hair and he the only mutha f**cka that can't talk straight (ooohh tay). but lemme calm down. i wished that everyone would open there eyes and see things from our perspective sometimes, it's pretty rough being the minority. opportunities and life in general isn't they same. do some research because everything that you "learned" in school ain't what it is.

If a white person from Africa moves to the US and becomes a citizen they are now african-american. They can now get the grants etc. gained from the civil right movement. Remember civil right applied to "white women" also, a minority group!

Racism has not been around that long..

Maybe 500+ years with the last 200 being the most critical.. You can thank Northern Europe for that.. Southern Europe didn't even have a word for their "white" neighbors until after the fall of the Roman Empire.. They were just barbarians in the eyes of Romans.

Before RACISM there was mainly nationalism and religion that seperated man.. Rome had thousounds of other races in their empire, but if you weren't ROMAN you weren't shit.. Same with Greece.. China and modern Japan. and the list goes on and on..

Northern Europeans just added another another catagory.. That Northern Europeans were basically better than all the rest of the world.. Americans took this idea to the next level and added SKIN color as their primary divider, then in the 1930s Hitler went even further and said GERMANS were better than all other WHITES AND EVERYONE ELSE..
