I used to blow Orion XTR's 12" subs all the time. I had them in my s10 back in the day and man I swear I went through 7 of them. My first two subs - Pioneer 10's have lasted me 2 years now. Still sound the same. I try to keep away from flatlining the subs as much as possible. I hate the sound of it and don't want to wreck them just yet.

I have blown nearly every sub I've ever owned.

4 x MTX 12" Blue Thunder

2 x 15" MMats Pro Audio

4 x JL Audio 10w6

The only ones I haven't blown are two 8" MTX Road Thunder truck boxes, and three 12" MTX Road Thunders. But thats only because I haven't hooked them up to my high current D100HC 1700W @ .67 ohm amp yet.. That **** thing seems to blow up everything.. including multiple 80 amp fuses. I had to put in a freakin circuit breaker for it..

i blew an audiobahn a while back, other than that i'v had ove 15 different subs and they all were fine when i sold them, but i never over power, or over push my stuff, except the audiobahn(s). i still have one, and am trying to keep it working till i but my rl-p 15.

You guys ever snap or burn the wires leading from the speaker connector (on the speaker) to the voice coils? I wonder what causes this, perhaps its just too much current and excursion? My amp seems to do that all the time to MTX and JL speakers. It hasn't done it to my Mmats 15" yet tho.
