1 replacement for two Type R's?

I blew one of my 12" Type R's today somehow, and instead of going out and picking up another one to take it's place, I was thinking about maybe putting in one (or two) subwoofers to replace the Type R's? They're loud and pound pretty hard... running an Orion 1200D... I just am thinking maybe I should upgrade my system a little?

Maybe one nice 15? I have room for anything, my trunk is like a town car's trunk. Suggestions are welcome. I don't want to buy another amp or change the one I have.

I would do a SI Magnum. I am sure you would be a lot happier than your 2 R's. I have 2 R's right now and want a Mag bad, just can be a little dough.

I think I'm gonna pickup the 15" Avalanche, maybe look for another Avalanche down the line and throw another 1200D on it... who knows.

There is some guy on here selling two D2 Avalanches in the classifieds for 215 a piece if I remember correctly. Might want to check into that thread.

Okay, I think I decided on 1 15" Avalanche. Questions:

How would I wire it to the 1200D? My dad wired my current subs, I know nothing about ohms... and wouldn't know how to wire it to be 1 ohm or whatever, but with guidance I'll be fine.

Also, anyone feel like giving me box plans for the Avalanche?

LASTLY, will one 15" Avalanche in a custom built box equal anywhere near the two 12" Type R's in the pre-built box running off the same 1200D amp?
