Questions on amp for 1 10" CompVR

I'm about to buy a Kicker 05CVR10 and am debating whether or not to buy a 2 or 4 Ohm version.

I think it will depend on what kind of a deal I can get on an amp that would power these. I plan to only run one in this stealth box.

What would the cheapest option as far as getting an amp that will power this thing to the full 300 rms?

2Ohm or 4Ohm Sub?

Mono or 2 channel Amp?

Sorry for the very general questions, this stuff si way over my head right now.

nah man, my bad i'd definately go with the zx400.1 its class d and the zx300.1 is class a/b. Plus the 10 is 400 rms 800 peak.

You want cheap? I've got cheap for ya...

1st: Get the Dual 2 Ohm version and wire the coils in series to make a 4 Ohm load.

2nd: Have a look here and scroll down to the 400SX. It likely won't give you quite all of the rated 300w bridged but it will be close enough that I'd wager you wouldn't hear a difference between it and an amp giving up an actual 300w. Looking strictly at cost you're going to be hard-put to beat $45+shipping (probably around $60 total or less) that includes a valid 1 year manufacturer's warranty.

So - to review ~ Dual 2 Ohm ompVR wired in series to 4 Ohms + Profile 400sx in bridged mode = budget substage!

I just bought one of those for my girlfriend. It really slams for a 10" sub but it is in a box i built tuned at 38hz with 1.75 cubic feet. Anyways id get a 4 ohm load and then just bridge a 2 channel amp rated at like 80w rms at 4 ohms. that way you can get a cheap amp and use it to power your sub.

I don't understand what are the benefits, downfalls, and possibilities between buying this sub in the 2 Ohm, or 4 Ohm model. Could someone please fill me in?
