I'm thinking about picking up a 2003 VW Golf GTI, and was wondering what kind of gas mileage you get, and how expensive your general repairs, if any, are, and also a round about estimate on your insurance, though I know this will be different with each driver.

1.8t, vr6, 5 speed auto? I know that with my vr6 i get about 25mpg combined most highway. The repairs are expensive and so is maintenance. The car is a pain to work on because everything is surrounded in plastic.
