Questions about RCA's with single amp system.

Hey guys,

I will soon be using this: http://www.arcaudio.com/productdescription_pages/amplifiers/ks-series/ks3004.asp to power my set of components and one 12. I'm having trouble figuring out how to run my RCA's.

My Alpine head unit has 3 sets of preouts and I would still like to be able to use the sub woofer control on the head unit if possible. I will also be fading out the rear stage to only use the front stage. How do I need to rig this?? Any help would be great. Thanks, WM

Just run two sets of RCAs. One for the fronts and one for sub. Hooray.

Sorry I'm just a noob. So I'll run the sub preouts from the head unit to the rear preouts on the amp??

run the front rca into the front input on the amp that will power your comps. then run the sub rcas into the rear input of the amp. that way you can use teh decks sub control on the rear outputs of the amp. i'm taking it your bridging channels 3 and 4 to make power for the sub just make sure your sub is only a 4 ohm sub if it's a dvc please inform so we can make adjustments. here's the manual for that amp

Thanks Horse, Thats what I thought. The sub I'll be using is a JL 12w6v2D4 so I believe you can wire it to be 4ohm.

no you cannot the only choices you have for that is 2 or 8 ohms since the amp is not stable at two ohms you have one of two choices run the rear in stereo or wire the sub to 8 ohms.

you could always go with two amps. one for your comps and one for subs. proly save a little of cash that way.

Yeah, I def could do that but thats what I'm trying to avoid. Really just want to run one for the whole setup.

i've heard not soo good things about the pdx amps not soo clean sounding
