question

example:

outer dimensions of a seald box are 13" high by 20" wide by 15"deep...

the internal dimension would be 11.5" high, 18.5" wide and 13.5" deep....

thoes are the numbers you would use to calculate the internal dimensions to calculate the internal volume.

you basically subtract 1.5" from each external dimension because your MDF is .75 inch.

.75" (3/4") for each side.

CAREFUL, I think he means the actual boards, and you don't shorten all them, you have to decide HOW you're putting the box together before you decide which to shorten. The easiest would be.....

Front take away 1.5" from the height

Back take away 1.5" from the height

Sides....Take away 1.5" from the height and width

Top and bottom - don't take away anything

hard to visualize, i HIGHLY suggest drawing everything out first, thats what i do

Good call... i just re read it.

Listen to vladd and draw it ALL out.

here is a pic of what i made on MS paint for the last box i made. you can kind of see how the pieces fit together. the cuts all depend on how you fit your box together.

in this example... everything was screwed to the bottom and then the top was screwed down on top of everything so the top and bottom have the same dimentions as the outside of the box. this is just how I put it together.

If you're just doing a sealed box, PM me the specs you want and i'll give you a real nice 3d drawing and parts sheet if i have time to do it tomorrow. Tonight if you get it to me in time.

Well if you want to try, i can give you a drawing that will solve all your problems. if you have a scanner, just draw what you need on paper, and i'll go from that

i havent finished all of the design but i have enough. the piece that the sub mounts to isnt designed yet cause i dont know how to make it, but ill send u the design of wut i have. ill try to explain it when i send it but if u have any questions u can get me on aim, my screen name is spaz0055

give me until tomorrow because wut i have the designs on paper that is too big for the scanner and i have to transfer them to some other paper. i send them tomorrow
