question regarding crescendo pwx6.5

I was wondering if the crescendo pwx6.5s can be run on 120 watts per speaker. The rms rating on the crescendo site is 150 and the range was 50-250 so I'm just trying to determine if the amp I am going to use is adequate. It would be an arc audio xxd 2080 so its clean power. my plan is to grab a pair of 8ohm versions and parallel them to a 4ohm load. the amp puts out 240x1 bridged at 4 . Last thing, my doors will be sealed.

First, why do you want to run them in mono? Second, what's the rest of your system like? Deck, tweeters, x-overs, subs, etc?

You should grab the 4 ohm version and run them in stereo...one channel to each speaker. 80 watts RMS is within the recommended power range, so you should be fine.

front doors are focal access series 2 way component

rear doors are 5" coaxial focal access

arc xdi804 powers the mid highs

2 AB tnt 10's

ct sounds 2200.1 powers the subs

From my understanding the xxd 2080 has a full crossover capability. That wouldn't change if i went one channel or used both channels would it? Otherwise I'd run each channel at 80 all day as long as it was good for the speakers. Again, I want my mid bass to actually make a difference, i don't want my mid bass drivers laughing at that 2080. I would just assume hold out and find another 804 or and xxd 4080 to run into two channels with the gain super low.

So are you getting a midrange because you're missing some sound or something's lacking?

I ran 4 of the PWX 6.5's 4 ohm on a PPI 900.4 for over a year crossed@100hz with 0 issues.As you can see by this test the PPI puts in work:

I'd say more enhancing. my substage provides plenty of low end bass. I'm honestly just trying to determine if 120 watts to each was enough but it sounds like individuals are having success with even less. I'll get more clarification on the xxd2080 to verify that the crossover frequency is full range when bridged to one channel.

You sure you've messed with your current setup enough? Maybe you've got the mids crossed too high? Sub too low?

Introducing a 3rd speaker may not even fix anything. Still not sure why you're bridging the amp for these. You're also risking muddiness playing these full range as well as multi-sourcing.

It sounds good, but no substage is going to get that punchy midbass to the front. Plus my arc xdi 804 and the xxd should pair well together. Nevertheless, is 80 watts to each speaker enough for the crescendos?

80 real watts is enough for most speakers. I would find a more powerful amp, especially if you're using the speaker for full range application. If you're trying to save money, shouldn't be hard to find a PPI that does 150x2 into 4 ohms. You're trying to fill a gap in sound, so I'd do it right the first time. Let me know how it turns out once installed, I'd be curious.
