Question on using sub and amp with factory stereo?

Hey all!

I was trying to find out if I can hook up an amp and sub to a factory stereo, or would it sound better if it was hooked up to an aftermarket CD receiver??

look up line out converters....easiest way to connect sub-stage to factory receiver
