Question on imaging.

Im glassing some kick panels for some RE RE comps, and I'm at the part where your supposed to image them. What is the best way, should I just point both baffles at my head rest? well I dont got em hooked up and i dunt want to hook em up till its all glassed / finished you know? And I know there is a way to image them before you hear them.

if at all possible, have someone help you. mount the comps into the baffle and you sit in the seat listening while they turn it back and forth till it sounds rite.

All else fails, point them at their opposite headrest. I hear a laser pointer works.

Alright, I have the molds dryed and finished and cut. ready for dowles to mount the baffle.

Then here's what you do;

Run over to Home Depot and get some plumbers straps. Cut a few strips off of the roll, and mount one end of each strip to the back of the baffle, and the other end to your mold so that the baffle is suspended by the straps. Mount the speakers in the baffle, wrap some towels around the backside of the mid (to reduce the amount of rearwave interferece), and start aiming the baffles till you find the best aiming for imaging and soundstaging. Once you find that aiming, then you cut the dowls to the proper length to maintain that imaging and place them in between the baffle and mold. Then you are ready to fleece and finish them off.

A decent place to start is with aiming them at the opposite headrest, and then just go from there.
