best 6x9's and 4x6's

i am looking for a really good set of speakers. i need 4x6 in the front and a pair of 6x9 in the back. i want something that will not blow if i hook them up to an amp and i want something that does not distort.

perhaps alpine Type S 6x9 for the rears, they sound pretty good.

I recommend any infinity speakers for what your looking for. I have a set of Infinity's for my front and rear fill and I couldn't find any better for the money. You can throw an amp to em' no prob.

i would recomend pioneer 5 ways they are really loud and clear and definitly wont blow on an amp with over 200 watts rms

And how about a set of 6.5"s in the back, with adapters, rather than the 6 x 9s? Round speakers will sound better, man. For the 4 x6", you could get some nice plates.......

We also need to know what amp you plan on putting on them......

The infinity reference 6x9s sounded like I had a 8' sub in my trunk in my old car. They werent very harsh at all since they were playing into the rear glass.

I had a set of JBL GTO series 4x6 ovals once in stock dash spots in an old Buick I used to own. HP crossed at 90~100Hz they were happy being amp driven but were adequate off of deck power too. This was a few years ago and I don't know if these have a modern-day equivalent or not...

I have a set of Pioneer Premier TS-E6990 3-way 6x9s that I got as a present when the nickel-plated cone Premiers first hit stores here and I truly love them. They don't particularly like being driven with a head unit...just not enugh for 'em. But push their max RMS or a bit more into 'em and they just sing. I would imagine whatever 6x9 is Premier's top offering currently likely sounds at least as good.
