question on gain setting?

Guys please dont start making fun here. i have spent almost 800 bucks this week trying to get this right. i dont know whats going on.

well reading through your other thread was much helpful and would of been nice to know you had it. Period, these are your options.

1. Amp is blown like i said early it is possible to have amps half blown so they only put out part power and would explain the wierd 8 ohm versus 2 ohm thing, find a diff amp and try

2. the sub is just wired incorrectly, are you wiring just from terminals on the box cause could it be wired wierd from inside the box?

3. HU isnt putting out the right rca volts, try the cd player thing.

its not electric system cause still at 11.3v the amp and that sub should get decent output. But on that note what engine is in your taures? i have a 220 irraggi HO alt ill sell ya real cheap and never used, it was for my 94 taures but i sold before i used. I can find out if it will fit in your car if you want.

Im not reading the 6 page other thread. But if the DMM method isnt giving you the right results just do it by ear. Leave the settings on the headunit just how you would listen to it and set the gain by ear. There is nothing wrong with doing it this way if you can tell when its clipping.

just heard a pioneer premier 10 off 125 watts that was louder than my idmax off 1000 watts. something is def wrong.
the pioneer is prolly at a 4 ohm load on that amp and not an 8 ohm load on your amp, that's why it's louder then yours, drop your ohm load man and you'll get way more output and you'll be happier for sure //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

the ohm load is at 2 ohm already. if i wire it to 8 ohm it hits just the same and is just as loud as it is at 2 ohm. im having the amp bench tested thursday, i think it is bad!
