Question on DD sub pair

I currently have a DD9510, when i get back from basic i plan on buying another when i get a larger vehicle. The one i have now is last years model, and i was curious if i can just get the new model and run them together, or do i need to track one down with the same motor and all that jazz??

preferred same version sub, but if all the theile are the same i don't see why it would matter
