ok planing on do my big 3 up grade hear real soon .and the question i have is if i do it the first time with 4 awg what size fuse will i have to use and can i use the same size fuse when i upgrade to 0 awg also can i use a circuit breaker in stead of the fuse .stinger has one that's 250 amp would it work

x2

And to answer your question:

No.

The fuse is to protect the wire, and different sizes of wire have a different ceiling for amperes... I forget what 4AWG's is, but I know 0/1 is 300, I believe.

250 is for 2AWG... I THINK. Don't quote me.

But as for the circuit breaker, yes. It works on the same principle as a fuse except... with out the fuse.

I'm not sure on the reliability, though. I have one in my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I would use around 250-300 fuse...and x2...I would go for 1/0 gauge...and if youre worried about cost go for the knukonceptz klmx (like 1.75 a foor I believe for the 1/0 gauge)

EDIT: I wouldnt use that 250 with the 4-gauge...I would guess that the 4-gauge can't handle that current very safely

DO 1/0 with 300 amp fuse (though IMO 250 is good enough), and save you self time, money, and effort. You could find your self some good 1/0, 2/0, etc welding cable will do the trick also

just checked out kunkkoncepts klmx that ainta bad price for what i need .now will i have to up grade my bat to amp wire to its only 4 awg going to a splitter then coming out with 2 8 awg . that and what do they mean by copper coated aluminum i know in house wiring having aluminum wires aint good

here is my take on circuit breakers. They are nice since u don't have to worry bout looking for fuses when u blow one. It also easyer to shut the power off if u are doing work on the stereo. However, they become become weak over time and when 200 amp used to trip it, now 175. Get the idea. I used to love the one I have. I just haven't had a chance to buy a bigger one.
