Will this spot work as my engine to chassis wire??

The spot is for the alternator mounting and it is accessible. The actual engine mount i cannot get to. I found it and thought i would be able to but there are too many obsticals.

Will it work or no?

i know its too soon to bump, but i am in the middle of doing all this and if i can use that spot i can finish things up, if not i do not know what i am going to do.

yeah, well to the obvious as you state, i did not scape the paint off like a dumbass. I put everything back in and it works, but i dont see a very good improvement. Do i need to disconnect the neg. from the battery before i remove that particular piece to scrape the paint?

Will i hurt something by taking the short way out and not disconnecting the neg. battery terminal when scraping paint from the alternator mount? I also found that where i connected from the alt. mount to the chassis the paint is still on the chassis pretty good too. Soooo.... i want to remove some paint from the engine and from the chassis. Remove the neg. terminal is very important?

It will take 5 min. w/o removing the neg. and probably 10-15min with removing it.

You have cute fingers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Let's have a small lesson on conductivity.

Things that ARE conductive: Water, Graphite, Copper and many other METALS

Things that AREN'T conductive: plastic, paper, etc.

Now, the materials that allow for the flow of electricity the most are metals. That being said, your engine block is probably made out of aluminum or another metal, which can be assumed is conductive electrically.

Thus, any METAL part attached to another METAL part which is connected to ANOTHER metal part means Point A is connected to point C.

Strip the paint and stop being a lazy dck.

P.S. Are you using plyers to unscrew the nut on your terminal...?

are you saying it takes 5-10 minutes to remove the negative??
no, but i removed it anyways and sanded everything down. Still not a very noticable difference.

haha no i used sockets for all unscrewing. I knew about the conductivity just not how important specific spots were. Thanks for the finger comment!!

Not to throw a wrench in your sprockets, but you need to make sure your connection is METAL and not a hard plastic.

Some vehicles have alternator mounts that are a plastic/metal alloy, thus not very conductive.
