So I grew up in the south and I say yes/no ma'am and yes/ no sir. It doesn't matter if you're twenty or eighty. Tonight I ran into a gay friend of mine, she wished me a happy thanksgiving, and I replied "yes ma'am, you too". Are you supposed to say yes ma'am to a butch lesbian? Almost wonder if I'm insulted her. Like whoa.

Sure I do. Very few people actually get a little offensive when called ma'am or sir....but not many.

It's all in how a person was raised, that's all.
