Question for the 15L7 users

You need a big box to really let them shine, i was told from kicker to do a 3.5 cu for each subwoofer and 40 sq in of port thats 19.5 long, now thats a big box so i say do the biggest u can fit in ur truck.

They shine with about 4-4.5 cubes.

about to purchase a 06' 15L7 and was wondering if there is any difference in the older 15L7's and the newer models? what kind of box do you recommend?
I sold you my 05 model l7. The new ones can handle much more power than last years version. Thats probably the biggest difference, along with them looking much better. Oh and tinsel leads are woven into the spider, which is nice.

If there is any difference the 06 models are probably nicer. I had mine in 3 cubes ported. I couldnt imagine a box that gives that thing more output. For the money these cost i was really impressed. Great subs for the value

i was thinking about making my own box, but then came across probox's super bass ported enclosure.......http://www.proboxrocks.com/old_images/superbass/1-15-SQ-SPB.gif...i am good friends with the dealer that sells these locally and i can get it for half the price....so about $90 or so.... its 4.50 airspace.

should i go ported or sealed. the last 15L7 was ported but was in like a 2.5 cube box and still got decently loud. if i went sealed would there be much difference?
if you dnt have enough room for a ported box, then by all means go sealed. If your wanting to go sealed though, then i suggest you get the cvx, as it will do better than the l7 in a sealed application.

no i have plenty of room for ported just didnt want to go through the trouble of making the ported box if there wasnt much difference. i got the whole back of my quad cab to use.... how should i have the sub face?

i email probox and ask about there l7 boxs and i ask about tuning and they told me there l7 15 box is tuned to 51hz outside vehicle 45hz inside is this correct is this box tuned for sql

i just put two 06s15L7 subs running on a 1500.1 Kicker amp in a 10 cube box tuned to 33 hz.

finished the intall last week and have been testing it for the last few days to be sure i like the box. they is installed in the back of my F150 super cab.

all i can say is ****! problems so far are as follows. back slider window fell out of its track. front face of dash had a clip break. rear view mirror lasted only two 40 HZ test tones.,

that's tuned way too high, i tried tuning my 15's to 42hz at first, and they sounded like complete ***

the 15's aren't meant to hit frequencies that high, if you want those 'competition' high frequencies, that drown out the music, and make your shirt flap around, get 12's

the 15's like 30-55hz, so tune around 30-35hz, no higher
