i have an MTX 2 channel amp im pretty sure its 1500 watts i have two kicker dual voice coil subs and when its wired positive to negative with one wire then the other positive and negatives together bridged it blows my fuse in my power wire. why is this happening and is there another way to wire it?

haha so what size do i use. i know most people on here are experts compared to me. you dont have to laugh at my ignorance. we all have time to learn. plus im only 17 years old.

Give us a little more detail on the way you have the voice coils wired, just doesnt sound right. And yes if it is a 1500 watt amp it will need more than a 30 amp fuse. also need to know the wire size your powering it with. No worry on not knowing about this there is some good people that will help you through it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

okay so the wire im pretty sure is like 14 gauge its one of those sosche amp wiring kits from wal mart. im pretty sure thats what it is. i plan on getting a bigger ones once i get some money and my voice coils are wired plus to negative with one wire then the other plus and negative go to the amp and same with the other sub one set is wired together then the other two go to the amp.

It is most likely 8or9 guage. Ok it sounds like your subs are in series and then paralell to the amp. Honestly I would pull out the amp and subs until you can get a 4 guage wiring kit. You need proper wire and fusing . BTW where at in Ohio are you?
