i have a few questions, i think i did this right but im not 100 percent sure...i have the hifonics bxi2006d its 2000rms at 1 ohm the voltage i got was 44.7 does that sound right?

on my headunit, its an old one its a pioneer premiere, it has 80hz and you can go to +6 someone told me to keep that on while i am setting the gains. it also has slam that goes to +6 i keep that at 0, and it has low mid and high level gains on it too, the low gives more bass the highs give more treble...i keep the high level on +5 but everything else on 0, is that how it should be?

also on the amp it has - - ++ on the amp...so i just did 1 neg to 1 positive cause i bridged the subs at the box....i dont know if that makes a difference either

on my amp it has Phase which is 0-180, i have that on 0

level goes from 0.2-9V- i have that set to 3.4 of the way to 0.2 because thats where the voltage read 44.1 can i turn it up to like 48 volts since when you drive on the street you dotn listen to test tones?

the bass eq is 0-10DB i have it half way up

subsonic is 15-35HZ its a quater of the way up

Low pass is 35-250hz its about a quarter of the way up

should any of these be higher?

yup

Sounds like a one band 80hz EQ. I would set that to the middle of its range to set the amp gain. That way you can modify the bass up or down from the HU depending on the song.

agreed

Again - I would set it at zero while you set the gain - do what you think sounds the best after that.

just think of the (+)'s and (-)'s as one (+) and one (-) with two places to connect your sub wires -- since that's exactly what you have, but I can't say for sure if your subs are wired right based on your description. Hopefully you have dvc 4's wired down to 1 ohm (being that you're setting the gain for 2000w)

phase is good

level - sounds good

going up to 48...yeah, that should be ok. Besides, hardly any music is recorded at 0db, so to get the most out of your amps playing music you have to go slightly higher with the gains. Just be aware of clipping when you're near full volume.

Lower if anything on the bass eq.

Subsonic sounds ok - technically it depends on your enclosure. If it's sealed 15hz is fine. If it's ported it's supposed to be set relative to the tuning of the enclosure, but 1/4 of the way up should be fine either way unless you have a ported enclosure tuned fairly high and you're in the habit of blasting 20 hz tones all the time.

now i have another question, if i upgrade from the bxi2006d to the xx hercules, will i notice a difference in how it sounds/loudness?

the hurcules should be slightly more powerful (a couple hundred watts or so), but if you can hear a difference you have better hearing than, well, everyone else.

10% power increase won't amount to squat audibly.

The Herc is a better built amp, but it's not sound you're paying for, it's durability, overall quality etc.

yea i figured i wouldnt hear too much of a difference, but im only paying 35 more dollars for teh xx hercules over the bxi2006d
