question about ported VS sealed for 2 RE 8's

I know the ported will be louder. The sealed will be better clarity. How much of a difference in output will there really be? I am gonna build my own box this time have never done it before and know sealed will be easier than ported. Will the sealed still be pretty loud and play as low as ported? I know with 10's and 12's but never actually installed any 8's in any of my cars.

Don't go sealed.

Sealed really doesnt improve you clarity or SQ much at all, and will limit your output quite a bit. Helps ultra lows just a bit.

I am kind of sorry I put my XXX in a sealed enclosure... its going into a ported box as soon as I have the time to make it.

re8s should be ported. get a ported box if you can

they sound like shit sealed, and can take more power ported without reaching full xmax. i had mechanical failure with them sealed, because they would over excurt on little power.
