question about port area

How in the world did u get 152.2 that is way high...are u using a diff unit?

i plugged all your info from the subwoofertools page you linked into re's and thats what i got

I plugged the same info into re's and got 30.62 vs the 34 on subwoofertools. You sure u dint make a mistake?

your dims are 23.25 x 13.5 x 14.5.

how you gunna mount a 15 on that?

it doesnt put the box you designed up there..its a default design until you plug some dims in. links are useless

It is wrong the dimensions you put in are limiting factors not the dimensions of the box. Idk ill get it here in a bit...lol

Width 33, Height 6, Depth 21, Square Port Width 4.4, and Square Port Length 10.

This thread in particular caught my eye.

I'll give two reasons for the difference in tuning between my calc and RE's calc.

1. RE's calc doesn't have a provision for removing volume due to driver displacement. Given the sample earlier, a 0.17cf larger volume (driver displacement) will make a lower tuning frequency when given the same port.

2. My calc rounds everything off to the nearest quarter inch, producing a bit of variance from the "intended" design. The "actual" tuning is a bit lower than "intended" in most cases due to rounding.

I use xmax in mm for inches port area per cubic feet. works good as xmax relates to port area.
