Question about my setup

this is the answer OP. running two 2 ohm SVC speakers in parallel results in a final load of 2 ohms. two 2 ohm SVC speakers in series results in a final ohm of 4 ohms (you need to wire them for 2 or 4 ohms, with your set up you can only wire them for 1 or 4 ohms).

you generally can't run a 1 ohm load on a 2 ohm stable amplifier
My amp is stable at 4 ohms, how do I get it there? According to the box the RMS would be a perfect match for what the RMS is alleged to be from these suspect subs.

Edit: Ok, upon further review, I see that to be where I need to be, I need to run positive to the left, negative to the right, and a wire connecting the unused + and - terminals to each other? I get this info from Amazon's sub installation guide lol

Ok, will try this tomorrow, thanks everyone for the advice! Probably the reason my 2 sony xplod 12s blew lol I had them hooked up to this amp in parallel. It worked just fine for about 3 years!

The subs wouldn't have blown because of this. You probably just pushed them too hard and signal was clipped. Not that they're supposed to last long anyway. RF is not top of the line. If you spend the coin, you can have a good RF setup, but if you hit the forum...you can save a ton of money and have it sound even better. Only mention RF has in places where anyone knows anything is if they're running old school stuff. Alpine, JBL, Infinity are all mainstream, like RF, but they offer excellent value. RF is just too expensive for what it is. They count on people like you to recognize their name and spend the $$$. Hope that stops here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

First thing you need to do is this,to actually know just what the hell you got off Ebay ohm wise on the subs to begin with. Then figure out to wire the subs for the sub amps stability,/Stable(4,2 ohms) on that amp

So, what, I'm screwed? How would I get my amp down to 2 ohms since it's 2 ohm stable? Even if I have to run just 1 sub, it's better than nothing! If my speakers are 2 ohm is it unsafe to run them at 4 ohms? Or even possible? I'll do anything I can!!

U have single 2ohm woofers. Bro use google. U have the world of info at ur finger tips. We already told you what to do. Wire the subs to 4ohm. Or yes u can just run 1 sub at 2ohm to ur amp too. Next time buy the right equipment.

Ok, I missed the part about how to achieve this. I don't understand how to get it to 2 ohms. If I wire it to 1 sub, it's 4 ohms. I thought wiring it parallel brought it down to 2 on 2 subs. How do I bring it down on 1 SVC sub? Don't look down upon me just because I don't know. For all I know hooking up my amp at 4 ohms to my 2 ohm speakers will blow them! There's so many websites to look at, it's confusing, this is why I asked people who know on a forum. I finally have time to work on it today, working a 7 day swing su cks!!!!

Wire them in series like this. Same concept for single 2 ohms, you will get 4 ohms wiring yours in series instead of the 8 shown in the picture.

Hell yea it worked! It actually sounds impressive and I still have everything turned down! Much appreciated! I'm going to dial it in tomorrow, it was dark out already by the time I woke up.

Well hmm...have it wired the way y'all told me to and it still cuts off. I can't turn the gain or bass up to even 20 percent. It plays just fine but I can't crank it the way I'd like. Any ideas?
