question about my amp grounds

out of no where my sub amp cab1600 has been going into protect when turning the volume at a decent amount and then after that my ppi900.4 turns off after then the cab turns back on while the ppi is off then a few seconds it will power back on then the cab would turn off after playing music then the ppi would turn off then the cab would turn back on and would play bass etc this would keep going until i turn it back down to a lot lower volumes. the gains on both amps are not even a quarter way

only thing i can think of is i have the 2 amps grounded at 2 points in the spare tire well maybe a foot away from eachother it worked fine only till recently. is there a chance the ground is looping? if so why now when i been running like this since like 8 months straight

Have you checked your grounds lately? They could have loosened up, have corrosion around them, rust, etc. Take a look, tighten if necessary, then report back.

this^ put a dmm on dcv on the amp inputs and turn it up, might be clipping too hard, and might be bad grounds. the trunk spare tire well is a long way away from your battery and alternator

just because it was fine for a few months doesnt mean it wasnt dropping to 10 or 11v
