Question about batteries

So I got metered again today and got 146.38

I'm planning on adding two more batteries, I was planning on yellow tops. But the car guy at the car shop said I should go XS batteries. I don't run my system with the truck off only when I'm cursing around.

Does amp hour rating really matter if I'm not running the system when the trucks off?

Yellow top

CA 870

CCA 750

AH 55

RC120

XP 3000

max amps 3000

RC 240 min

AH 120

I wouldn't get yellowtops. I got some "rebadged" AGM's.

Look for stuff like Duracell, Deka, ect. I run Exide, because that's what I got a great deal on.

Yes, amp hour rating does matter.

What's your system and do you already have a HO alt?

Singer 275 amp alt

1 yellow top in the front

1 hifonics brx 2000.1 (adding 1 more)

Voltage

At vehicle start is 14.7

After a bit 14.3

System running car running 14.0

From what you're saying, it doesn't look like you need a battery. If you're hoping to gain output from adding more batteries, you won't. If you're bumping, batteries will provide a short amount of relief if you alternator isn't able to supply the needed power. In turn, they help keep the voltage up as well. If you don't have a voltage drop, you don't need another battery.

If you had a bad voltage drop you might notice something like your car dying while driving down the road with your system bumping hella hard you know lights dimming bass notes not as loud so you crank it more and BAM your on the side of the road waiting for a jump start

Car audio batts are way over priced and yellow tops have never done that great for audio. Choose somethjng else

Amp hours matter to an extent as well as CCA. Amp hours matter more if playing with vehicle off then when running. Your CCA is kind of more important with vehicle running

CCA is the rating for starting an engine not after it is running. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
