Question about Amplified Feed

i have a car that the radio connector has a lead for "Amplified Antenna Feed", sounds straight forward. problem is, the radio has the typical rf connector for am/fm. sirius and nav. so my question is:

what is the amplified antenna feed for? it already has the normal; antenna feed. is it norma; to have two feeds?

eclipse avn5435 currently but ive had pioneer avic n1, alpine 9855, pioneer 9400mp all weak fm and no am whatsoever....
