Question about amp power

Iv'e been eyeing the one in the amp classifieds but I'm not dead set on it. But still thinking somewhere in the 2000 RMS range at 2 ohm. My stock alternator puts out 150 amps now. The only company that has offered an alternator for my car has given me a price of $350 for 270 amps if I can supply the case I found it for 120 on Partsgeek. My pulley is a cog design so they can't really up my idle amperage by much because they can't shrink the pulley. That's what they guy I spoke to on the phone told me I called qualitypowerauto. I was't planning on upgrading the alternator until I was going to add a second sub and wire down to 1 ohm on something like an AA-3800.1 or something close to that. So am I aiming too high on stock electrical?

For stock electrical, you're sootin' at Pluto, not even the moon.

1000-1500 is the general accepted RMS you can run on the average vehicle's stock electical. An AA 3800.1 at 1 ohm is more than double that.

You will need a good HO alt and at least one good AGM battery to run things like this smoothly.

You could ignore this and have voltage drop under 10v, but you'd damage your system eventually.

One of my friends pounds his amp all the way into 9v on bones stock electrical.

I was shooting for 2 ohm with that amp before upgrading my alternator but that's still 2k plus my front stage amp maybe I should revise my strategy? I'm trying to save money now by buying a bigger amp for a single sub to use now the when i want more I can upgrade my alternator add another sub build a box and wire down to 1 ohm. I grabbed an Intellitronix volt meter for the install to make sure I don't hurt anything.
